How to configure SCCM Migration option for Migrate System Center configuration Manager 2007 objects to System Center Configuration Manger 2012 !

Hi all,

In this post, i explain how to migrate Config Mgr 2007 objects to Config Mgr 2012 .

Migration container description:

This container help to migrate all packages, all collections, etc... presents in a SCCM 2007 environment.

For start, you do have:

1 AD Server

1 SCCM 2007 Server

1 SCCM 2012 Server

Admin right needed

Package source copied previously to the package source destination server

1- Open the SCCM 2012 Console and select the migration container

2-Select Source Active hierarchy, and click on Specify Source Hierarchy

3-Insert all information required:

• The hostname in full computer name

• Source Site access Accounts for SMS PROVIDER and SQL

and click OK

4-After configure the migration Source tab, the first Data Gathering start...

5-Gathering in process...

6-You have the possibility to Enable distribution sharing for SCCM 2007 Site server, select this option for sharing DP betwen SCCM 2007 and SCCM 2012 site Server during the migration process. !!!Great option!!!

7-After select to share SCCM 2007 DP, a another data gathering is needed....

8-Gathering process finish and completed with successfully!!!

9-You can see now the new Source Site Server Hierarchy in the SCCM2012 Console!

10-You have a lot of possibility to configure or use the Migration module (see under):

11-If you use the DP sharing, you can see the DP Sccm 2007 in this copy screen in under picture:

Configuration is done, in my next post, i explain how to use the Migration jobs....
